    Anil Advani specializes in the representation of early stage startup companies, venture funds, institutional angel investors and many prominent angel investors in silicon-valley and India. In the last 12 years practicing law in Silicon Valley, Mr. Advani has represented more than 900 startup companies and numerous founders, venture capital investors, angel investors, and venture lending and leasing sources on issues relating to formation, founder issues, consulting and advisory arrangements, capital structuring, angel financings, venture financings, debt financings, leasing, strategic licensing and customer arrangements, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has an active practice representing India-focused public companies, investment banks, financial institutions and venture funds on acquisitions, financings, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.\r\n\r\nPrior to starting Inventus Law in 2009, Mr. Advani was Of Counsel and Head of India Practice in the Menlo Park offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. Before joining Orrick, he was General Counsel and Vice President of SemIndia, a pioneering effort to establish semiconductor manufacturing in India.

    In that role, he was responsible for coordinating with the Government of India in formulating a comprehensive semiconductor policy for India as well as with the State of Andhra Pradesh in structuring Fab City in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Prior to joining SemIndia, Mr. Advani was a Senior Associate in the Silicon Valley offices of Cooley Godward where his practice focused on representating emerging companies and the venture funds and banks that finance those companies. Mr. Advani began his legal career as an attorney in India where he practiced for a number of years at the High Court of Delhi.\r\n\r\nMr. Advani is fluent in English, Hindi, Sindhi and Punjabi. He is licensed to practice law in California, New York and India.

Brian has had a successful career in starting hundreds of technology based companies and is passionate about changing the way in which breakthrough technologies get commercialized. As part of this mission, he founded Technium, an Intellectual Property marketplace to make the process of starting “deep technology” companies simpler.     Ms. Cohen has 15 years of experience in the investment banking and private equity businesses. In her current role at FCP and previously at UBS, she advises companies in the Technology, Media & Telecom sectors, with a focus on the Internet, New Media and Software spaces. Prior to joining UBS in 2014, Ms. Cohen spent three years as a Vice President at Evercore Partners in the M&A Group where she advised Financial Sponsor clients on all matters related to buy side and sell side transactions. Prior to Evercore, Ms. Cohen worked at Macquarie Capital and R3 Capital (~$3.5bn hedge fund spin-off of the Global Principal Strategies Group at Lehman) where she originated and executed middle-market investment opportunities across a broad array of industries including the aerospace, industrial, consumer and education spaces. In these roles, her responsibilities inclu. all aspects of private equity investing & portfolio management. 

    Prior to that experience, Ms. Cohen spent nearly five years in investment banking at Lehman in the Global M&A and Global Financial Sponsors Groups in New York, London, and Tokyo where she participated in the execution of buy side and sell side M&A, leveraged buy-outs and financings for U.S. and European financial sponsor clients. Before joining Lehman, she spent one year in investment banking at Legg Mason (now Stifel Nicolaus Weisel) focused on M&A in the edu and business svcs spaces.
